Gabriel Levitt
Gabe is President of Prescription Justice. He is a long-time advocate for prescription drug affordability, internet freedom, and expanded patient access to health care, including through personal drug importation.
He is also the founder of the Prescription Justice Institute (PJI), a New York-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on internet and international access to health care for patients who rely on online or cross-border sources for affordable medicines.
In 2002, Gabe co-founded PharmacyChecker and served as its president until 2023. PharmacyChecker evaluates online pharmacies for safety credentials and compares prescription drug prices, with a particular focus on international pharmacy verification.
Gabe has testified before Congress on access to affordable medicines and internet freedom, published an op-ed in The New York Times on online pharmacies and personal drug importation, and authored a chapter in Hacking Politics on defeating the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). He is President Emeritus of the United Nations Association Brooklyn Chapter and a recipient of the United Nations Association’s Molly Bruce Advocacy Award.
Gabe is principal of Levitt Public Policy LLC, where he supports governments, organizations, and companies through advocacy, research, policy analysis, and report writing. He holds governance and financial interests in a private company operating in the pharmaceutical sector.
Gabe earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, a master’s degree in International Relations from American University, and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Science from Roger Williams University.
